First as a tragedy, then as a farce | Slavoj Zizeck

October 31st, 2009

Ok, here it is, the perfect post for Iván and Vanessa: Marx, Marcuse and Zizeck alltogether like in a brithday party!! and I know my friend Iván would be the happiest!, since Zizeck declares besides Unamuno. “Venceréis pero no convenceréis”.

Zizeck : “Hegel remarks somewhere that all great events and characters of world history occur, so to speak, twice. He forgot to add: the first time as a tragedy, the second time as a farce”.

” (…) Herbert Marcuse added yet another turn of the screw: sometimes, the repetition in the guise of a farce can be more terrifying than the original tragedy”.
